Technics SL-1300G Direct Drive Turntable
The Technics SL-1300G is a new-generation Grand Class turntable designed with a strong Hi-Fi focus, combining advanced motor technology with precision engineering to deliver exceptional rotational accuracy, low vibration, and outstanding analogue performance.
At its core is a coreless direct-drive motor with a twin-rotor design, eliminating cogging and reducing bearing load while maintaining high torque and stability. Derived from flagship models such as the Technics SL-1000R turntable, the motor is engineered to suppress even the smallest vibrations that could affect sound quality.
A key innovation is the ΔΣ-Drive (Delta Sigma Drive), an advanced motor-drive system that uses Technics’ expertise in PWM signal processing to reduce harmonic distortion and minimise motor-induced vibrations. This results in smoother, more precise rotation and more faithful audio reproduction.
The three-layer platter combines aluminium die-cast, brass, and a rubber damping layer to maximise rigidity and vibration control. With significantly increased mass, it delivers exceptional rotational stability and reduces resonance for cleaner, more accurate playback.
The chassis features a rigid two-layer construction using aluminium die-cast and BMC materials, with additional reinforcing ribs between the motor and tonearm to enhance damping and structural integrity. Each unit is precision-balanced at the factory and marked to confirm optimal performance.
A high-speed switching power supply ensures stable, low-noise power delivery, reducing ripple and eliminating the need for large transformers. Additional noise suppression circuitry further enhances signal purity.
The traditional Technics S-shaped tonearm is constructed from lightweight aluminium and uses a high-precision gimbal bearing system for accurate tracking. Hand assembly by skilled technicians ensures high sensitivity, while included auxiliary weights allow compatibility with a wide range of cartridges.
Special silicon rubber insulators provide excellent vibration damping and long-term reliability, while gold-plated phono terminals and internal shielding minimise external noise interference.
