The Rosso Fiorentino ARNO40 is a meticulously engineered floorstanding loudspeaker, combining Italian craftsmanship with advanced acoustic design. Featuring a sleek profile and a configuration of high-performance 5.5” drivers, it is built to handle demanding power levels with precision while delivering a refined, musical presentation.
An unconventional acoustic load is paired with a highly refined crossover circuit, ensuring seamless integration between drivers and exceptional musicality. Every aspect of the speaker is designed with both sonic performance and amplifier compatibility in mind.
The cabinet is constructed using a constrained-layer damping technique, combining multiple materials to create an almost resonance-free structure. All hardware is designed and manufactured in-house in Italy, reinforcing the speaker’s premium build quality and attention to detail.
The enclosure is engineered so that sound originates purely from the drivers, not the cabinet. By minimizing panel vibrations through Rosso’s constrained-layer damping approach, internal resonances are significantly reduced. This results in improved clarity, a more defined soundstage, and enhanced bass response. Additional fibrous damping materials and internal air “cushions” further optimise energy distribution within the cabinet.
Driver development is central to the ARNO40. While most components are designed in-house, Rosso collaborates with specialised Italian manufacturers to achieve the highest standards. This partnership has enabled the creation of a unique range of drivers, developed exclusively for the ARNO series, with careful optimisation of materials and manufacturing processes.
The crossover design follows a results-driven philosophy rather than a fixed approach. For the ARNO40, it has been engineered from the ground up using premium components and custom in-house elements such as bespoke coils. The circuit is designed to present a stable, more resistive load to the amplifier, improving efficiency and ensuring superior sound quality.
All mechanical hardware is produced in Italy, including aluminium vented ports, spikes, counter-spikes, and front panels milled from solid 8mm aluminium. Even the connectors are crafted from pure copper and plated with gold and palladium for durability and optimal signal transfer. Anodised aluminium bushings with friction locks ensure secure cable connections.
