The Ortofon ST-7 is a compact and stylish step-up transformer designed to deliver excellent audio clarity while reducing the load on your phono stage. With a refined electrical design and high-quality internal components, it provides clean, open sound across the full frequency range.
The ST-7 features a unique sandwich winding structure, which significantly improves high-frequency response, resulting in a detailed and airy presentation. Gold-plated terminals and high-quality internal wiring ensure optimal signal transmission with minimal loss.
A true dual mono design, combined with individual shielding for each channel, enhances stereo imaging while reducing the impact of external noise. The use of permalloy shielding further protects signal integrity, helping maintain a quiet and controlled performance.
Compatible with a wide range of moving coil cartridges, the ST-7 is particularly well suited to models such as the Ortofon MC Quintet Series, SPU Classic, and SPU #1. By boosting the signal from an MC cartridge to MM level, it provides increased output without introducing distortion or relying on additional gain from your amplifier.
