The Ortofon SPU Royal GM represents one of the most refined expressions of the classic SPU design, combining traditional analogue character with advanced stylus and coil technology. It delivers an open, highly detailed sound with exceptional clarity while maintaining the rich, musical presentation that defines the SPU range.

At its core is Ortofon’s Replicant 100 stylus, featuring a reduced tip mass for superior groove contact and enhanced high-frequency performance. This allows the cartridge to extract fine detail and subtle nuances from recordings with remarkable precision.

The use of Electrum coils—a gold and silver alloy—ensures highly accurate and uncoloured signal transmission, while a carefully optimised damping system reduces tracking force requirements and improves linearity across the frequency range. High-purity 6N copper wiring further preserves microdynamic detail, resulting in a natural and highly resolving listening experience.
