Ortofon SPU Mono GM MKII Cartridge
The Ortofon SPU Mono GM MKII is a dedicated mono cartridge designed to deliver an authentic playback experience for early vinyl recordings. Built around the classic SPU architecture, it faithfully reproduces the tonal character and energy of original mono pressings with impressive accuracy and musicality.
With a high output of 3mV, the SPU Mono GM MKII can be used directly with standard MM phono stages, removing the need for a moving coil transformer. This makes it a straightforward and effective solution for enjoying true mono playback within a wide range of systems.
The spherical stylus with a 25µm radius is specifically optimised for early mono groove formats, ensuring proper groove contact, stable tracking, and reduced record wear. The ground wood and resin composite body contributes to a natural, balanced sound while helping to control unwanted resonance.
