The Ortofon LH-4000 is a high-quality headshell designed for HiFi applications, offering a clean, minimalist design and reliable performance. Built from solid aluminium, it provides a durable and stable platform for accurate cartridge mounting and playback.

The LH-4000 is suitable for a wide range of cartridges and is particularly recommended for use with the Ortofon MC Quintet series. Its straightforward design makes it a practical choice for consistent performance and ease of use.

The headshell comes supplied with lead wires for quick and convenient connection. Ortofon cartridges use a standard colour coding system for terminals: red and green for the right channel (hot and ground), and white and blue for the left channel (hot and ground). The green terminal is used for grounding the cartridge housing or motor system where applicable.

For best results, it is recommended to connect the lead wires to both the cartridge and headshell before mounting, ensuring correct orientation of the leads. Ortofon cartridge terminal pins have a diameter of 1.2 mm, while Ortofon headshell pins measure 1.0 mm.
