Ortofon 2M Blue Moving Magnet Cartridge
The Ortofon 2M Blue is a high-performance moving magnet cartridge designed to deliver increased detail, resolution, and dynamic expression. Building on the foundation of the 2M Series, it offers an open and engaging sound with improved clarity compared to entry-level models.
The 2M Series features Ortofon’s trademark split pole pin technology, originally introduced in earlier ranges, which allows moving magnet cartridges to achieve a flatter frequency response similar to moving coil designs. Combined with an improved engine design, the 2M Blue delivers a higher output and a high level of sonic accuracy.
The cartridge is fitted with a Nude Elliptical diamond stylus, providing precise tracking and improved detail retrieval across the frequency range. This results in a more open sound with greater dynamics and refinement compared to the 2M Red.
Optimised for ease of installation, the 2M Blue is designed to fit a wide range of turntables and tonearms. Its weight and dimensions ensure broad compatibility, while its performance works well with a variety of phono preamps.
