Available to experience in-store at the Spinning Room showroomThe Ortofon 2M Red is designed for precise and accurate retrieval of information from the record groove, delivering a clean and natural sound in line with Ortofon’s philosophy of reproducing audio without colouration. It offers an open, dynamic presentation with a slight touch of warmth, making it a versatile all-purpose cartridge.
The 2M Series incorporates Ortofon’s split pole pin technology, originally developed for earlier cartridge ranges. This design reduces eddy currents and enables a flatter frequency response, bringing moving magnet performance closer to that of moving coil designs.
The 2M Red features an improved engine that provides a 5.5 mV output and optimised sound reproduction with a high level of sonic accuracy. A tipped elliptical diamond stylus ensures reliable tracking and balanced detail retrieval across the frequency range.
Designed for ease of use, the 2M Red is compatible with a wide range of turntables and tonearms. It is available in multiple configurations, including premounted and Verso versions, to suit different mounting requirements.
