The Ortofon 2M Black LVB 250 is a special edition moving magnet cartridge, created to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven. Building on the widely acclaimed 2M Black, this model introduces upgraded materials and design refinements to deliver even greater precision, clarity, and musical detail.
The cartridge features a Nude Shibata diamond stylus mounted on a boron cantilever. The highly polished, slim profile of the Shibata stylus ensures an exceptionally wide contact area with the record groove, allowing for highly accurate tracking and detailed reproduction across the entire frequency range, including the highest frequencies.
The use of a boron cantilever provides increased stiffness while remaining lightweight, improving speed, responsiveness, and overall transparency. The result is a sound that is open, fast, detailed, and highly dynamic, maintaining the musicality the 2M Black is known for while pushing performance further.
