Music First Audio Reference Passive Preamplifier
The Music First Audio Reference Passive Preamplifier is a transformer volume control (TVC) based design developed over five years to deliver exceptional transparency, control, and flexibility. Designed as the ultimate passive preamplifier, it provides precise signal management without introducing noise or colouration.
At its core is a 60-position transformer attenuation system, offering 60 x 1 dB steps plus mute. This allows for highly accurate volume control with consistent channel balance across the entire range.
The unit includes full remote control for both volume and source selection, making it practical for everyday use while maintaining a pure signal path.
Connectivity is highly flexible, with six pairs of inputs and four pairs of outputs, configurable in any combination of XLR or RCA. An optional full-volume “Tape Out” is also available for system integration or recording purposes.
