The Bel Canto Black system is a reference-level amplification platform designed to deliver a complete and accurate musical experience. Built as a three-chassis integrated hybrid system, it redefines how signal travels through an audio system to preserve detail, timing, and emotional impact.
Constructed from solid high-grade billet aluminium, the system combines advanced digital control with high-performance analogue amplification. Its architecture separates critical stages to minimise interference and maximise signal integrity, resulting in a natural, dimensional presentation.
The system consists of the ASC2 System Controller and two MPS1 mono power amplifiers, working together as a fully integrated yet electrically isolated solution.

System Overview:
The ASC2 is the central control unit and master clock of the system. It acts as a digital preamplifier, handling all inputs, volume control, DSP processing, and system configuration. It uses a 64-bit DSP core, 32-bit volume control, and custom FIR filters to maintain accuracy throughout.
All inputs are galvanically isolated to prevent noise contamination. These include network (UPnP Ethernet), USB2, SPDIF/AES digital inputs, and an analogue input converted via a high-performance 24/192 ADC located close to the input stage.
At the heart of the ASC2 is an ultra low noise master clock system with phase noise measured below 40 femtoseconds, ensuring minimal jitter and precise timing.
The processed signal is transmitted via fibre optic connection to the MPS1 mono amplifiers, maintaining complete electrical isolation and eliminating ground loops and RF interference.

The MPS1 mono amplifiers combine DAC, clocking, and amplification in a single chassis. Each unit features a fully balanced mono DAC that integrates multi-bit and delta-sigma technologies for low distortion and high dynamic range.
